We have got you covered if you want to see more in less time! The 5-day safari offered by Abigail safaris takes you to the most stunning tourist attractions in southwestern Uganda. The major highlights are game drives at Queen Elizabeth national park, chimp trekking in Kibale National Park, and gorilla trekking at Bwindi National Park. The tour starts in Entebbe/Kampala and ends in Entebbe or Kampala.

Details

Our representative will pick you up in Entebbe or downtown Kampala and drive to Bwindi National Park. The drive to Bwindi National Park will go to western Uganda’s major towns, including Masaka, Mbarara, Ntungamo, and Kabale. There are two scheduled stopovers: 1) The Equator crossing for coffee and handicraft shopping. 2) Igongo cultural centre in Mbarara for lunch. The drive will take about 7-8hrs; upon arrival, check-in at the lodge and rest for dinner and overnight. Note: If not interested in driving for up to 8hrs to get to Bwindi, there is an option to take a one-way domestic flight from Entebbe airport to Bwindi National Park at an extra fee. Aerolink Uganda organizes the flight.
You will head to Bwindi National Park immediately after breakfast to get a briefing about the gorilla trek. The presentation will cover the basics of what to expect during the tour. The national park guide will assign all visitors to the gorilla family to trek during the briefing session. Visitors from various countries are likely to be assigned to different trekking groups. The gorilla trek can take from a few to many hours. During trekking, the time spent depends on how far the gorillas are inside the forest. After the trek, transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Note: Depending on the availability of gorilla trekking permits, we might suggest trekking the gorillas at Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Ishasha sector for tree climbing lions: On the way from Bwindi, we will drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP, popularly known for the tree-climbing lions. While the sighting of the tree-climbing lions is not 100% guaranteed, a stopover at Ishasha is worth a visit! After the Ishasha game drive, proceed to the Mweya Peninsular of Queen Elizabeth NP for a boat cruise experience on the Kazinga channel.

Kazinga channel boat cruise: If time permits, join the Kazinga channel boat cruise for an afternoon of wild game viewing. You will spot crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and a wide range of bird species on the channel waters. After the Kazinga channel boat cruise, drive to the lodge for dinner & overnight.

Kasenyi plains game drive: You will start the day with an early morning breakfast at the lodge. Afterward, we proceed to the famed Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot various species of wild animals. Kasenyi plains dwell in the vast savannahs of the Albertine rift in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It will be a morning full of adventure! Expect to encounter lions, herds of buffalos, elephants, Uganda kobs, topi, and bushbucks. While spotting the “Big Five” in the park is not guaranteed, on a lucky day, you may site leopards to make it the “Big Four.” After the game drive, drive to Kibale National Park via the Fort Portal crater lakes. Dinner & overnight at Kibale National Park

You will head to the Kibale forest immediately after breakfast to experience the trekking of the chimpanzees. If you are lucky on the trek, you might encounter other different species of monkeys in the Kibale forest. These include colobus monkeys, olive baboons, and red-tailed monkeys. After the chimpanzee trekking experience, transfer to Kampala city or Entebbe town for dinner and overnight or continue to your next destination
